Hotel Management

Modern hotels rely on interconnected systems to optimize operations such as in-room environment controls, security, entertainment, and energy management. As travelers become increasingly tech-savvy and competition intensifies, the hospitality industry looks for ways to reduce overhead while providing excellent guest experiences.

Many hotel automation projects include unique features, which are well served by Tibbo Project System (TPS)'s modular architecture. With TPS, you can take what you need and leave out what you don't, making it easily customizable for every particular setup. With the AppBlocksĀ® no-code development platform, integrators can visually orchestrate all aspects of in-room automation, saving time and slashing development costs.

Card Access

Keycards remain central to secure room access. TPS devices work with third-party readers using Wiegand or RS232/RS485 interfaces. Amazing customer experiences can only be built with tight integration between various room automation systems, and this is where using TPS and AppBlocks truly shines. With AppBlocks' intuitive application builder, property managers can set up custom action routines, such as opening curtains or adjusting lighting when guests enter.

Temperature Monitoring

Tracking a room's temperature is crucial for balancing guest comfort and operational costs. Sensor types that TPS works with include Tibbits (modules installed inside of TPS devices), Tibbo Cable Probes (I2C interface), Modbus sensors, and 1-wire and Single-wire devices.

Temperature Control

TPS devices can control heating, ventilation, and air conditioning through digital, analog, Modbus, or infrared channels. They also work with motion sensors, which are increasingly deployed in hotel rooms to reduce energy costs. By setting up control loops in AppBlocks, operators can create custom routines for various room use stages, such as pre-conditioning rooms during guest check-in.

Lighting Control

Lighting profoundly affects guest comfort and energy expenses. TPS can handle everything from simple on/off relays to more sophisticated PWM dimming for implementing lighting scenes, such as full, reduced, or night arrangements. Operators then define custom lighting routines, such as time-based dimming or occupancy-based activation, in AppBlocks, our no-code application development platform.

Ingress Monitoring

Doors, windows, and balconies equipped with wired sensors can feed their status signals into TPS devices for real-time monitoring and logging. Hotel operators can use AppBlocks to map sensor events to automatic actions, like opening curtains or switching on welcome lighting the moment a guest enters, through a straightforward, code-free configuration screen.

CO2 Monitoring

Indoor air quality plays a big role in guest health and satisfaction. TPS monitors CO2 levels using Tibbit modules or third-party sensors connected via Modbus or other supported interfaces. Then, by dragging and dropping AppBlocks building blocks, integrators can design automated responses, like activating fresh air fans or sending maintenance notifications, without manually coding any logic. TPS' modular nature means you only include the air-quality features you actually need.

Humidity Monitoring

Proper humidity control helps avoid mold, preserve furnishings, and keep guests comfortable. TPS devices can measure humidity with dedicated Tibbit modules or external sensors, including I2C-based options. Hotel personnel can create and modify customized rules in AppBlocks, such as running dehumidifiers at certain humidity levels, via simple block diagrams instead of traditional programming, giving each site the exact control it requires.

Flooding / Leak Detection

Leaks and overflows in bathrooms, spas, or kitchens can be devastating if left unnoticed. With hundreds of bathrooms behind locked hotel room doors, having an automated system to detect when (not if) flooding or leaking has occurred is essential. Hotel operators can detect leaks early by linking flood or moisture sensors (from Tibbo or third parties) to TPS devices. AppBlocks then simplifies the automation of emergency responses, letting managers visually configure instant staff alerts, solenoid valve closures, or any other mitigation steps.
