Why is the Designer free on Tibbo hardware?
Tibbo makes the hardware, and that is how we earn our living. When you build for a Tibbo Project System or another Tibbo device, the Designer is free with no limits, including for commercial products.
Which boards count as Tibbo hardware?
Tibbo Project System mainboards such as the TPP2(G2) and TPP3(G2), and Tibbo controllers such as the DS1101 and DS1102. Any other board, including ESP32, nRF52840, and Raspberry Pi Pico boards, is third-party hardware. See supported boards.
What counts as commercial use?
Selling devices, or deploying them for a paying customer or in your own business operations. Learning, prototyping, and personal projects on third-party boards are free.
What is the “Built with AppBlocks Free” badge?
Firmware built on the Free plan for a third-party board shows a small badge in the device’s web console. It doesn’t limit what the firmware can do. Rebuild on Pro or higher and the badge is gone. Firmware for Tibbo hardware never shows it.
Do I own the generated code?
Yes, on every plan. You can download the generated Zephyr source at any time and keep building on it by hand. Firmware you have already built and deployed keeps working if you change plans or cancel.
Do I need both the Designer and Cloud?
Every plan includes both, so you only choose once. If you don’t use AppBlocks Cloud yet, your included devices wait until you do. If you run a fleet of Tibbo devices, you are paying for Cloud alone, because the Designer is free on Tibbo hardware anyway.
What is the difference between a Designer seat and a Cloud member?
A seat is someone who builds firmware in the Designer. Cloud members, such as operators who watch dashboards and manage devices, don’t need a seat.
What counts as a device?
Any device that connects to AppBlocks Cloud at least once during the billing month, whether it is Tibbo or third-party hardware. Devices that stay offline all month are not billed.
What happens to an inactive Free account?
If nobody signs in to a Free account for 30 days, its Cloud workspace is paused. Nothing is deleted: sign in again and it resumes.
Can I try Pro before paying?
Yes. When paid plans launch, every account can try Pro free for 30 days, with no credit card.
